A versatile artist, Akila has good footing in the Kannada film industry, as she has starred in six feature films including Mithileya Seetheyaru, Ranaranga (along with Dr. Shiva Rajkumar), Devata Manushya, Jamboo Savari, Pujari Krishna and Utkarsha. Apart from films, she has worked in many well known Kannada TV serials.
Akila has also been part of diverse films and television but has recently written the heroine’s mother in the soon-to-release Kannada movie Hey Prabhu. And speaking of versatility, she also appeared in a Hindi-language documentary for a construction company, and landed a Tamil-language ad for a mutual fund company..
A resilient, positive person, Akila’s motto is, ”Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain.” This philosophy reflects her own experience, and she inspires others with the mantra: “It’s alright to stumble and fall, but we must stand back up, dust off the dirt, and move on! Never give up.”

In addition to her role as an actress, Akila has previously worked with the next generation in a more empowering way. Over the past few months, she has held communication workshops for college students, which she loves to do since she loves connecting with the youngsters, and sharing her learnings. With a background in theatre, she brings a range of skills and techniques that turn her audience whether onscreen or in a workshop into participants.
Which all goes back to her diverse career and passion for her craft alongside love for teaching young people how to not only act but how to be the best, trying their best, version of themselves possible.
